I went here with my youth group at my church last week. There were only a few things I disliked about it which were that the dorms were really cold, the showers were disgusting, the floor in the dorms were sandy, the beds were 20 years old, and there is no ladder to get to the top bunk in the bunk beds. These are not that bad though, so don't worry too much. Other than that, I had a really fun time building my relationship with God and having fun at the beach. There is also a store to get snacks/drinks that has souvenirs, coffee, ice cream, smoothies, etc. Sometimes, the line there can be long though. Overall, this was an amazing trip and I would go back!

We have brought our youth group from Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church in Hudson, NC the last 2 year and have made reservation for 2019. We’ve had a great time, with 0 problems. The Gary and the staff have been very nice helpful and friendly. They provide a room for worship every night. It’s been great, the youth have opened up and shared their hearts, we had times of worship, preaching and prayer. Last year one of our youth gave her heart to the Lord. Looking forward to being back with the good folks at Garden City Chapel by the sea.

Facility is ok. The most unfortunate thing about this place is the staff. We have been visiting this retreat center for 3 years and every year we seem to have an issue having hot water in the 133 pine ave. building. Every year it’s an issue. Ricky, Tyler, Rodney... we always have an issue with them lying to us saying they turned the hot water heaters on, but they never did. We tend to have to call several times... go through a run around with several people... leaver several messages... then eventually somebody finally decides to do their job. It seems to me if you know ahead of time a large group of people are going to show, the facilities need to be in working order.

Facilities are nice but it took 10 mins to get one mango smoothie. Slow unwelcoming staff. Staffers sit around drinking smoothies they made for themselves( out of the blender) don't wash it. A staffer on the campus walked in without a shirt on and made himself a smoothie. Workers also leave the counter/ kitchen unattended.

I've been going down here for 12 years with the youth group from Olivet Moravian Church, and I love it. We have a great time and the staff are always so pleasant. Love visiting the chapel, the pastor is great, they always make you feel welcome.
