When did public parks become pay to play? Irvine city has a better system where it's still free to play pickleball on new courts at Mike Ward park.

The facility here is truly awesome sauce. The courts are bright during night sessions and the wall has painted service and base lines so it feels more realistic. The wall is great and has been my unbeatable tennis partner for a long while now. The wall is so great that it's always being occupied by the people. (And the pickleballers🙄) However, truly a great place to practice and play tennis. Ontop of all of this, their summer camp and coaches are great. The summer camp isn't hard-core but gets the fundamentals and footwork in.

Facility is nice and clean, clean bathrooms when you need it, staff members are there to help when needed, can be busy at times when you call, but they usually call back, I text sometimes because it's more efficient, and coaches are plenty and knowledgeable just have to find the right one. I think it makes sense that the facility charges for court reservations, otherwise you have gangs of people hogging the courts. Time is important for me, so I plan ahead, 4 days specifically

Overall disappointed. My 15 year old son came here once a week for over two years. Still did not manage to serve or hit any ball properly. Make up policy for missed classes are ridiculous as well- no refund but a make up session only. Missed less than 5 classes total over 2 years span. And he was one of the more advanced players in his group. There were as many as 20-30 students with 2 coaches per session. They get to hit a ball maybe two and then have to go back in line. Lots of standing around doing nothing. Waste of money and time.

rude workers. They supposedly close at 4 and “workers” were still playing at 6 pm. What a waste of space, all the courts were empty except for the one they were playing. They didn’t even provide information how to reserve just told us that we had to leave but they were still allowed to be there because they were “workers”. Drive to tustin or huntington beach and play for free instead of supporting this company profiting off community space.
