The Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center, managed by USTA Florida, runs a junior summer camp for ages 5–13 that builds technique, footwork and match play through drills and games. Players are grouped by age and ability using the Red, Orange, Green and Yellow ball progression, led by Safe Play-approved coaches. Full-day (9am–5pm) and half-day (until 1pm) options are offered.

Powered by GoogleI had a wonderful experience taking tennis lessons at Fort Walton Beach Tennis Courts while staying in Destin. Both Kara and Zephyr are fantastic coaches — very patient, attentive, and thoughtful in their teaching. They really take the time to explain techniques clearly and tailor the lesson to your level, which made a big difference for me. Communication was also excellent. Whenever the weather was uncertain, Kara was proactive about reaching out and keeping us informed, which I really appreciated. Everything felt well-organized and respectful of our time. I’ve taken lessons in Texas before, and the pricing here felt very reasonable in comparison, especially considering the quality of instruction and personal attention. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend Kara and Zephyr if you’re looking for professional, well-communicated, and genuinely caring tennis instruction in the area.
We had a great time here! The courts are kept up perfectly, but, more importantly, there were so many courts that they were competitive for space. Very cool wall to hit against with fly ball protection fences and everything. My family had a great time playing tennis!
Selfishly, I don't want anyone to know about this place because it's wonderful and possibly a forgotten/hidden gem. I've been playing tennis here since I was in middleschool and now I go for pickleball. It's peaceful, it's well maintained, it's a Mom and Pop kind of place, and the nicest, most down to earth people work there. Check out their website because I know they have a lot of things developing/happening now.
I play at USTA tennis centers all over the southern portion of the U.S. and rate them using five criteria. This place majors on programs, staff, environment, and maintenance, but falls short on intangibles. I want this place to be the best since my son lives close by and visiting him always includes a good hit here. However, some of the homeless issues here are not found in my experience elsewhere in the southern U.S., even in ALTA in Atlanta and Darling in Vegas on the strip. It's not a recurring issue, but from time to time it's just a difference.
Went to the tennis center to watch Choctaw vs Fort Walton Beach high school tennis matches. It was very fun! It was so amazing to see so many parents and grandparents watching the kid's tennis matches! A lot of support for the kids! Some excellent players out there in both teams! We are so pleased to see the tennis center coming to life after being so underutilized for so long! The USTA is an awesome organization and we are hoping will continue to help revitalize tennis and tournaments in Fort Walton Beach. Best wishes to the tennis program at the tennis center!
