Fort Shafter SAC is the U.S. Army Child & Youth Services (CYS) School Age Center at 240 Rice Street, Bldg. 890, Fort Shafter. School Age Care serves military families with out-of-school care for children and youth ages 6-12; some SAC programs may also include kindergarten age children. Care runs before school, after school and on school-out days during the school year, plus early release days and winter, spring and summer breaks. The Summer Camp program runs 10-12 weeks and offers full-day care filled with enrichment, recreation and hands-on learning, with extended activities like field trips, theme weeks and special events. Children explore their interests in a club-like environment with options such as art, STEM, music and fitness, and the program adds homework support, daily physical activity and nutritious snacks.

Powered by GoogleMy kids attended only during school breaks and not after school. Positive. Affordable. Breakfast & lunch provided. New facility. Clean. Multiple activities (playground, gym, computers, board games, crafts, etc). Convient. Great hours of operation. Negative. Desired group organized activities instead of free choice for kids. Kids arent really organized into groups by their age group to do things together. Instead there are different stations, where your child decides how to spend the day and which ones to go to. Disliked that kids weren't forced to try new experiences if they didn't want to. Great summer finale, however, kids have a choice to participate. Best if all participate.
