Fort Scott Recreation Department
Private
The Fort Scott Recreation Department is the municipal parks-and-recreation agency for Fort Scott, Kansas, running youth and adult programs out of the Buck Run Community Center. It offers sports and recreation activities; a distinct kids' summer day camp could not be confirmed on its site (a separately-run day camp in town is operated by the Fort Scott National Historic Site).
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Fort Scott Recreation Department directly before you register or pay.

Great to rent a gym for parties or family get-togethers. Inexpensive. Plus they have great kids/community programs. Different sports all year round for kids through....at least elementary, maybe middle school. The gym is a great community gym. Slightly smaller but just right to get you up and moving. The staff is also great. Always helpful and encouraging.
I love the gym!! Going with my friend and pushing eachother to become better versions of ourselves!! Unfortunately we are both very fond of the stair master and love to use it but there is only one!! We NEED another one!! There are multiple treadmills and bikes but only one stairmaster!
We have used this facility for family reunions, holidays and birthdays. There’s a full kitchen in one of the gyms you can rent. There are also smaller rooms you can rent for events. Very reasonable pricing. My kids grew up playing here. There’s something for all ages. They have a lot of work out equipment and a variety of classes you can sign up for. Great way to keep kids busy over the summer.
Great little fitness center for the price. It could use some newer equipment and more space. However, the hours are good and for the town size I’m grateful that it exists.
