We had the best time at First City Art Center's glassblowing class! My three kids each got to create their own piece, and it was such a unique, hands-on experience for all of us. The instructor was fantastic --very knowledgeable, patient, and detailed in explaining each step of the process. He made everyone feel comfortable and confident, even as beginners. We all truly enjoyed the experience and learned so much. If you are visiting the Pensacola area and looking for something different and memorable to do, I would highly recommend stopping by First City Art Center!

We were really looking forward to this glass blowing experience, but the way the situation was handled left us extremely disappointed. The morning of our scheduled session, my pregnant wife woke up with significant morning sickness. As soon as we realized we might be running late, I tried repeatedly to call the studio to let them know and see if we could push back the time slightly. Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach anyone. We arrived approximately 30 minutes late and were told that our session had already been cancelled. At that time, we were told we would receive a refund. However, when I later followed up with the manager via email regarding the refund, the tone of the response was surprisingly rude and dismissive — and we were informed that no refund would be issued after all. The most frustrating part isn’t simply the policy — it’s the inconsistency and the lack of communication. We made a good faith effort to contact the studio as soon as we realized there was an issue. If lateness results in automatic cancellation with no flexibility, that should be clearly stated and consistently enforced. Telling us one thing in person and then reversing it later via email feels unprofessional. We understand small businesses have policies and tight schedules. But how situations are handled — especially when pregnancy-related illness is involved — matters. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling more frustrated than excited.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our Hot glass session with Jessica! She was very informative and patient with a great personality. On the other hand, Molly was not helpful when I called inquiring about the items we made. She had a bad attitude and gave no time frame for me to receive my items. If not for Molly this would’ve been a 10/10 experience.

This place is truly a hidden gem! Wife and I have always wanted to try taking a glass blowing class. Wow! This place is awesome! Connor was amazing. 3 hours of “get right to it” lessons. We each made 3 different things with increasing levels of creativity and difficulty. Never realized how much there is to learn about glass. Connor was amazing! He really cares, teaches in a very accommodating way and is so patient. You can feel his passion for the art. We will definitely be back to explore deeper this form of art. Highly recommend. Seriously, just go do it!

Taking a Ceramics class with my sister. This place is amazing! Super knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. What a great bunch of people. The teacher is extremely patient and kind. We are a handful and they've got what it takes!
