Powered by GoogleI was disappointed in your adaptation of A Christmas Carol. While the acting was excellent, you just had to put all the virtue signaling in and it was glaring. Mizz Fezziweg was the boss?? Would never happen with a married woman in the 1840s. It would be nice for them to see that any kid can do anything? No. It would be nice for them to think about Who made lame people walk and blind men see. You weakened the author's message and it sounded ridiculous quite frankly. On top of that, you couldn't even bring yourself to make Scrooge say "I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year." That's the most important line Dickens wrote and its omission was very glaring. I talked to my students about all of this and explained to them why it was wrong. Also, let's keep men in men's roles please. Without my saying a word, my young students were commenting how weird it was that you had a man dressed as and playing female roles. That's inappropriate for children and I think parents should know about it before going.
The holiday season is always brightened by a good production, and this version of Scrooge was no exception. This is a festive play filled with lots of laughter, heart, and the wonderful touch of the winter spirit. A performance worth attending for locals and out of town guests. BRAVO!
A true gem and a must do experience for the whole family! The love and amazing talent really shows thru, especially with the added touch of humor to keep all ages connected.
