Powered by GoogleI was a huge fan of Focus. This year is a completely different story. Their program director contacted me about my son attending camp. He said that last year, my son and his ABA therapist, were missing too much of the camp activities because my son constantly needed breaks. This is a complete lie. He needed to take one break during every 45 minutes. He’s on the spectrum and can get overstimulated. He is not violent, does not bite, or yell. He simply needs to take a break before he gets overstimulated and his therapist was there to work through that with him without the use of any of their staff. At the end of our call, he conveniently mentioned that this year they’ve changed the rule and no longer are allowing therapists. It sounded too convenient. Other children there had significant needs including lengthy toileting and feeding needs. Other children are able to have their nurses there for support. But my son who needs a therapist and occasional breaks was no longer allowed to attend. This is supposed to be a non profit for children and families with special needs. Talk about discriminatory.
Very fun. Lots of sensory games.
Focus has been a blessing to ife and me I hope to do volunteer for them when I retire.
Ever since I came across Focus they have been incredible. They are one of the best organizations for special needs families and kids in Georgia. All staff is wonderful, and so are there programs and camps. We love Focus!
Focus is great! I have been attending their functions for years. My son is a young man with developmental disabilities. Focus is the only place he can go and be a STAR. I would recommend them to any family in need of recreational activities for their special little ones.
