Faith Haven Christian Camp was a big part of my spirituality and love ofGod from age 12 through high school my memories of this camp was awesome , the bran muffins with syrup breakfast , the kindness, good clean fun, lots of worship and prayer , bible reading…. Year after year my friends and I went to camp at Faith haven every opportunity from my church Those years had lots of kids when ever we went from 7th to 11th grade. Thank the Lord that Faith Haven was there for me and God planned it for me -Life changing!

(This review is specifically for the Faith Haven Cabin, not the Faith Haven camp or grounds as a whole.) Faith Haven sits on Eagle Lake about 7 miles south of Battle Lake and is a small, nearly crystal clear spring-fed lake-- the only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the required riff raff of large rocks at the shoreline due to erosion. As a result, their cabin requires going down a ladder off the dock or a challenging climb over the rock to get into the water...but it's worth it! (A few rare properties have a sandy beach...the camp site may? I didn't notice) No slime, no muck, no algae-- just beautiful, clean water with a mostly sandy bottom! (Except for the once or twice a year when the "lake turns over" when it fills with what seems to be little fuzzy seeds from the plant life in the water for a few days...?) So clear you can watch the fish off the dock...and beyond! As a result, fishing is fair to middling, but there are some decent spots, and a favored one appeared to be off Faith Haven"s shore. Their cabin is situated at lake level just a few feet away from the shore, so it offers a 5 star, exceptionally rare lake experience in sight and sound. No one is allowed to build this close any more-- Amazing! They also offer an exceptional fire ring experience with about 10 adirondack chairs and an abundance of firewood as well as a picnic table with a beautiful lake view. Their sturdy aluminum dock offers a built-in bench at the end to sit and enjoy the view as well. Other plusses include a couple of kayaks and an assortment of life jackets available for use as well as a variety of games for all ages in the cabin. The kitchen is a little awkward, but well stocked with everything from bowls to pitchers of various sizes, dish soap, basic seasonings, a coffee pot, microwave and 4-piece toaster. The cabin also has heat, which we used, and a fireplace, which we did not, so not sure if that works...? ( I'm also not sure about AC as we didn't require it and I didn't notice.) It's also very clean. Another huge plus is the number of people it can sleep and seat for meals! 5 BRs and more sleeping spots in the corner of the upstairs LR, plus a few more regular sofas up and downstairs, but be aware that some of these spots aren't the most comfortable for adult bodies: futons and a few twins/bunks with "camp mattresses." That said, our queen was very comfortable. There are two dining tables that can either seat six when placed each side by side, or easily connect to make one longer table. Chairs for eight are provided. In the "con" category: * The bathrooms are cramped, especially upstairs * The exterior and decor are definitely "dated cabin" (nice new floor downstairs though) * The access to the upstairs is either a very tight spiral case indoors or an outdoor wooden case along the fire ring side of the cabin *The drive is narrow with a possible, but challenging area to turn around for most vehicles so you don't have to back out (impossible with a trailer-- but more parking at the associated camp) * The water heater capacity doesn't match it's sleeping capacity. (The fourth shower was pretty tepid.) * No dishwasher except you. :) Management was very helpful and easy to work with. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we would stay here again in a heartbeat, if the need arose. If the cons aren't deal-breakers for you, I think you'll love it! I've been coming to Eagle since I was born and it's one of my favorite places on earth!!!
