Ethlete Lab Academy is a youth gaming lounge and esports training space on Detroit Ave in Lakewood, opened in 2025 by founders whose background includes coaching an NBA 2K League affiliate team. Its summer camps for ages 7-18 combine esports, coding, game design and other STEM activities, using a room of twenty gaming PCs, a training room, two streaming pods and a small cafe. My 2nd grader participated in a Thanksgiving break coding day and a snow day session. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful to both kids and parents. They learned to code a basic video game using Scratch, and also had time to just play other games. Mike was great. The group was small so he had plenty of instruction and help. He even played our playlist to get our adrenaline up before the gaming session The entire setup (PCs, tables, gaming chairs & headphones) were all well maintained.
