EmBe is a Sioux Falls nonprofit whose downtown center at 300 W. 11th St. runs youth programs alongside childcare and preschool. Youth offerings include a Babysitting Camp run in partnership with the American Red Cross for boys and girls ages 11-15, Camp Girls on the Run + Service Learning for girls entering 3rd through 5th grade, eight-week Taekwondo classes for boys and girls ages 3 and up, and a recreational, non-competitive Volleyball league for kids in grades 3rd - 6th. EmBe also runs the Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole seasons at partner school sites across the region. Scholarships are available.

★★★Kiara OltmanMy oldest went to EmBe since 3 months old until a little over 2.5 years and we had great experiences in almost all the rooms. Her most recent teachers in the 2s rooms are amazing!! She loves going to daycare, I got frequent updates on activities they do throughout the day and she is always coming home with crafts. My youngest on the other hand I have been less than impressed with her teachers ever since she moved up from the baby room. There was no lead teacher, no structure, no good communication. She has cried every day at drop off and at pickup when she sees me like she’s been distressed all day. One of the ladies just sits in the rocking chair all day. When I dropped her off I usually had to set her down in the room and walk away while she screamed and often the ladies did nothing about it. She frequently came home dirty, from the floor or also with food in her hair or in her skin folds around her neck. They also rarely ever did crafts or activities with the kids. So pending the ages of the child going there I would give varying reviews- for my 1 year old- 1 star, for my 2.5 year old- 5 stars!
