Powered by GoogleI have gone to this camp three times, and it is great, it makes learning about god feel fun, and it has kind workers, 10/10 would recommend to a friend (I have once already)I’ve attended Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp three times, and each experience has been incredible! The camp does a fantastic job of making learning about God engaging and enjoyable. The activities are fun and meaningful, allowing everyone to connect with their faith in a relaxed atmosphere. One of the highlights is the dedicated and kind-hearted staff who go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels welcome and supported. Their passion for helping campers grow spiritually is truly inspiring. I wholeheartedly recommend this camp to anyone looking for an uplifting and memorable experience. I’ve already shared my enthusiasm with friends, and I can’t wait for my next visit. It’s a 10/10 experience in my book!
Great camp for the kids. They've tried others and this is their favorite. It's safe, clean, and has good sound moral teaching.
I grew up at Elkhorn, sent my personal kids there, worked wilderness and currently bring my students there. This is an amazing place that offers something for everyone. The staff is accommodating to meet the needs of all. The grounds and facilities are beautiful. Whether you are a church group or a school group, Elkhorn provides exactly what is needed or wanted. I can’t recommend them enough and am grateful for the wonderful experiences I’ve had there from child to adult.
I grew up attending EVCC and had hoped my kids would have the same meaningful experience. Unfortunately, our experience last summer was deeply disappointing and concerning. Our 13-YO daughter, who is biracial and part of the LGBTQ+ community, was singled out after we called ahead to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment. Instead of support, she was monitored and warned for simply responding honestly to another camper's question about identity. Our 10-year-old son had a separate traumatic incident involving inappropriate groping/touching from another camper. His attempts to report it were brushed off repeatedly until we intervened directly. Despite bringing both situations to leadership and board of directors church contacts, we received no follow-up or response. We no longer feel this is a safe or welcoming environment for all children. I share this with a heavy heart, hope others will do their research when choosing a camp, and am deeply disappointed with what EVCC has become.
Have loved this camp and the people that volunteer there for over 30 years. Slice of heaven for kids.
