Powered by GoogleMy son was on a team. My son I know is neurodivergent. He has ADHD and high functioning autism. We are always right there at practice. My husband or I are with our newborn and other kids who also play on teams. We get it that he is a little hyper but so are the other kids. He didn’t like outfield and no kid does the other kids were chewing gum and twirling out there. He has a hard time being switched positions from catcher to outfield. It could set off his mood. He did enjoy catching a lot. The coach was really rude and harsh with us from the first practice. He was very militant in how he ran his team. He would get angry if anyone forgot to check off they were coming to a practice or game. He didn’t like any songs my son suggested for batting either but allowed some other choice songs played. He just didn’t like us and he didn’t like my son. My son picked up on this and it was a rough season. He shaped up a lot. We did our snack night and after this him and a few of the other parents who are buddy buddy with the coach just felt upset and even resentful the coach said about seeing my son on the team. He was resentful of my son. It was a horrible experience and my son knows they hate him and kicked him off the team. He cried a lot over it not understanding why everyone hates him and said he feels like a failure. This is not the place to ever send a child who might at all be different in any way. They are not understanding and they are resentful of a child with autism and adhd. Shame on EMLL and this coach and fellow parents for your actions and being a clique of people who are resentful of a child.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience. From the jerseys not sized as requested to how some teams and players were treated. We did like our coach but that’s the only positive we can offer. There are no working locks in the girl’s bathroom and have been that way for the entire season. We will not return.
Been prowling this park since teaching the boys how to swim way WAY BACK in the Early 80's💥💨
Great place for your child to play Little League baseball. Family atmosphere with competitive baseball. My son has been playing here since he was 4 years old. He is now 10 and enjoying every minute of it. I can’t believe how much he has grown as a baseball player at East Marietta. We love it!
Love this little park. My son has played ball there for three spring seasons and is now playing his first fall ball. The parents are great, not the over the top types you get at some places. We have seen huge improvement both in my son's basic skills and love of the game. If your looking to get your child prospected this may not be the park, but if you want to foster a love of sports and get them introduced to a great bunch of kids who love the game this is an excellent choice.
