★★★★★Amber KThis is an amazing hidden gem! For $25 an hour plus membership fees ($10 - $15 a person for the day) you can learn to sail a sailboat. If you're disabled the membership fees are waived. You can schedule anytime between May and September depending on their availability, and there are no deposits for learning. You can even take a boat out yourself for $25/hour once you learn how to sail and pass a test showing you understand how to sail alone or with friends and family. Ever wanted to ride a sailboat for an event or just for a fun outing but couldn't afford the extravagant fees? This is a more affordable option with great instructors and a wide variety of boats. Worried about getting on because you have a hard time with mobility or you're in a wheelchair? They have a hoyer lift and boats with benches that can easily accommodate. This is a hidden gem that we wouldn't have even found if it wasn't for Courage Kenny. You do not have to go through them to schedule a session or participate, you can contact the Duluth-Superior Sailing Association directly via their website or phone, but I wanted to give them a shout-out for leading us to this place. They're a great organization that helps people with disabilities try a variety of sports and activities no matter their skill level or disability.
