The Discovery Center of Springfield is a hands-on science museum whose Summer of Science camps offer STEAM-themed weeks for kids ages 5-14, available as full- or half-day sessions and drop-in days with small class sizes. Before- and after-care (7:30am-5:30pm) and an optional hot-lunch program are available; the facility is nut-free.

★★★★★Anthony McKinneyThis is a great place for kids. Our kids are 4 and two and they love up and I see them enjoying it for many years. There are many floors and sections and they're always updating and constructing new areas. Know that if you're library card holder you are able to get free passes, if they're available. You'll probably spend a few hours here, depending on how long you're kids spend on each amusement. When we went a couple of weeks ago, some of the more mechanical and electronic amusements were down or not functioning at 100% so that can be a bummer. I recommend getting an annual pass, it's very much worth it.

Each floor is something new and educational. Every time we go we find something new ! Definitely buy a membership it’s the best deal!! I’m also a nurse and love looking at the different exhibits myself. Our favorites are the dino area , and minecraft block room. Yes this place gets packed - parties and field trips. However, we still have a blast and don’t mind the crowd. If you get a membership you don’t worry too much about a shorter visit if it’s too crowded for your liking. This is our favorite place in Springfield and what’s pushing us to move here !
