DC Dirt Camp is a Motorcycle Safety Foundation-sponsored off-road dirt-bike and adventure-bike training school in Middletown, Virginia. It offers a Kids class for ages 6-12 (and Level 1-3 and adult classes for older riders) on scheduled days from March through November, providing Honda CRF bikes, helmets and pads. Children must be able to ride a bicycle proficiently; sessions are day classes rather than a multi-day residential camp.

WOW! We are so happy to have found this place - my son did the two-day beginner camp and said it was the best 2 days of his life he had so much fun! This is a local woman owned business and the owner is not only a passionate expert and teacher, but she is communicative and customer service oriented. If you are your child are interested in learning how to safely and properly operate a bike, this is the place to go, I strongly recommend! We will be back for Level 2!

Wowowowow! What an amazing day! Going from only street riding, for a few years, to going a full day in the dirt was enlightening, exhausting, humbling, and a ridiculous about of fun. Taking the clutch capable class was something I had been eyeing for about a year and a half and I only wish I had done it sooner. BJ and Anthony were straight forward, encouraging - while being realistic, and knew how to give us a good time while we were learning. We had gathered a group of us at various levels of street riding experience, but not a lot of dirt riding and we all had an excellent time. Accessible and achievable. If you’ve ever had the split second thought of “off roading could be a good thing” - think no more and take this course! Gather the group chat and sign up, you’ll have an amazing day! Can’t wait to do it again

Great value for money - the best way to learn to ride off-road! The classes take place on a large farm with lots of different terrain: hills, grass, dirt, fine rocks, and loose rocks. Teachers give instruction over headsets and ear buds that make it easy to hear. After the 1-day, level 3 clutch-capable dirt bike class, I feel confident enough to take my adventure motorcycle off-road. Dirt bikes and land are expensive, and the classes buy you access to that, but more importantly BJ and her team are attentive instructors: they love riding off-road, they learned from the best, and they want everyone who comes through their doors to learn as much as possible because they care about bringing more people to the hobby.

Highly recommend DC Dirt Camp! My son has been riding small, electric motorcycles since he was 6, but he wanted to learn how to use a clutch. He took the Two Day Beginners’ Camp (Level 1 & 2) and loved every minute. He immediately asked to sign up for Level 3! B.J. is fantastic; responsive, great communication. The program is organized and well run. They use earpieces to communicate with everyone while riding, which is awesome. Small, manageable groups. Strong focus on safety. Learning is structured, but super fun. Bonus: free photos and videos emailed to you after camp! We will definitely be back with our son and probably our daughters too!

A gem training camp for motorcyclists in Washington DC area. I come here to refresh my riding skills before the riding season starts, it’s as important as doing a Spring check up on my bike before riding season. This facility is located just about an hour fifteen minutes from Washington DC. Excellent coaching program to refresh your confidence, reasonable rates, and what would be better than dropping school’s bikes to keep yours up on the roads? This is my second training here with Coach Hessler and her training camp will be on my schedule twice yearly. Her training and continued riding education keep me safe on the roads as I do travel on two wheels through fifteen to twenty countries every year. You never have too many training days when it comes to your safety to keep riding. Happy riding!
