My daughter is almost 6 years old and attended here for a little under a year with previous ballet experience. While her teacher was very sweet, my family and I were extremely disappointed with the overall recital experience. I completely understand that young children won’t perform perfectly, but these routines were practiced for months and many of the dancers genuinely looked lost on stage. Most of the kids were staring offstage at their teacher the entire time for direction, and the performances overall seemed very unprepared and disorganized. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just the younger classes either — several of the older groups also appeared confused and messy during their routines. In my opinion, a large part of the issue was that the recital dances were not started early enough in the year for the kids to feel confident and prepared. To make matters worse, tickets were $20 per person for a recital held at the studio itself, which felt excessive considering the quality of the production. We also paid an additional $15 for a recital video link that still has not been sent out 4 days later, and there was no communication that there would be a delay. Had I known, I would have just recorded it myself. I’m not usually someone who leaves negative reviews, but I also noticed there weren’t many realistic parent reviews available, so I wanted to share my honest experience for other families considering this studio. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Dance arts greenville is an incredible studio!! They offer dance classes for ages 3+, including adult ballet, jazz and tap! The teachers are top-noch and everyone is very welcoming! I HIGHLY recommend Dance Arts Greenville if you are looking for a good dance studio!!

Was considering signing my daughter up until I saw that they are forcing children to wear masks while exercising. There are many health risks to exercising while wearing a mask, including restriction of oxygen flow to your body when you need it most. You are setting the children up for future respiratory issues.

Official dance studio is the most popular place to go have class for childrens and adult dance practice too. I did notice that I started to meet there last year and I loved it especially with different people in the studio using different styles of dance. Every year I would be willing to do classes for adults who takes jazz and tap dancing every Tuesday night.

My daughter has been dancing with this school for 9+ years. The staff is amazing and very patient with the younger students while challenging and supportive of its older students. While the emphasis is on ballet, there is ample opportunity to try tap, jazz, lyrical and other current trends. The staff are more than knowledgeable of dance, they are active/professional dancers themselves. With their close association to Carolina Ballet Theater, there are many opportunities to perform year round - from Nutcracker - Once Upon a Time in Greenville, to seasonal shows at the Peace Center. My daughter is actively involved in the Youth Company DAYCO and we have seen continuous improvement in her stage presence as well as her technique. From the moment you walk in the door and meet Mary to the happy smile on your child's face at the end of class, thank you Dance Arts!
