The Custer YMCA, part of the YMCA of the Black Hills, runs a summer day camp for children entering grades 1-6. Camp days may include sports, outdoor games, creative arts, archery, engineering, swimming, and nature exploration. Registration is handled through the Custer Child Development Center.

The weight room is outfitted with free weights including barbells and heavy dumbells, awesome machines (including cybex, icaran, paramount, and nautilus) and a smooth-as-butter smith machine.
