Crystal Mountain Snowsports School teaches skiing and snowboarding at Crystal Mountain, a family-owned resort in Thompsonville, Michigan, 28 miles southwest of Traverse City. ★★★★★Adam SonnettWe've been here multiple times for our summer vacation. This is perfect if you have kids (of any ages!). There is so much to do, with the excellent pool, rock climbing, zip line, bungee trampoline, alpine slide, mountain bike rentals and beautiful art park. There are plenty of places to eat on resort as well. If you want to day trip, you are within 20-40 minutes of the entire Northwest Lower Michigan. Be sure to check out Frankfort, Cherry Republic, Point Betsie Lighthouse and float on the Platte River!
★★★★★Christine S.Our favorite place to go - being from SE MI, we call it our home away from home. Upon check-in, I found out this was (at minimum) my eighth time visiting the resort. I have gone there for spa vacations with my mom, ski trips with my boyfriend for his winter birthday, but most often to return for my summer birthday. It’s my favorite place to be - name it and they have it. Hiking at Legacy Art Park, biking, swimming, nearby beaches and distilleries and dunes. We love all the options for food, whether you want to dine in or grab and go from the market. Bring stuff for s’mores for the fires. Love entertainment on the rooftop at Level 4 most nights. It’s so accommodating and worth the price. Everything is clean and all the staff is always so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend the spa! I get a service every time I’m there, whether it be a tranquil massage or a facial. We just left yesterday and we’re already looking forward to our return! Can’t wait to ski and snowshoe in the winter!

★★★★★David SheppardMy 40yo buddy, and my 45yo self, decided to get some snowboarding in this past weekend. I live in Detroit and my buddy was coming up for an extended weekend visit from Florida. He wanted to snowboard and all the places near Detroit were going to be closed. Enter Crystal Mt. Ski Resort... We opted for a 2 BR condo at the resort. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Gas log fireplace, full kitchen, steps from the slopes. The slopes, the accommodations, the food, and the staff were all exceptional. Wild Tomato for breakfast, Thistle for dinner (don't forget to reserve a table first), and a hot tub for sore muscles after a day on the slopes. It was a truly unforgettable experience, but I'd have to write a book to list all the reasons why. I will be back every chance I get, and Crystal Mountain Ski Resort will be the litmus test I judge every other resort by. Thank you for an incredible time.
