Creede Repertory Theatre, a professional company in the San Juan mountain town of Creede, runs five summer day camps for students ages 3 and up through June and July, taught by CRT staff and members of the summer acting company. Campers work with teaching artists on storytelling, puppetry and musical theatre, with improvisational comedy offered for teenagers. In July the annual KID Show puts students ages 10 to 18 through a world-premiere production created in just under three weeks.

My husband and I loved it so much we bought 5 tickets for my son's birthday and went back the next month as a group. I found out this isn't just local residents acting during their spare time; these actors are from all over the country. They have auditioned for their parts and usually act in more than just one production each summer. Creede Reperitory pays for their flights and gives them housing while they're here. It's a win for everyone, especially the audience!
