My daughter always showed an interest in music, specifically percussion…but I honestly didn’t know how she’d take to being formally instructed. Anyone with kids knows they fall in & out of love with things pretty quickly…usually directly related to amount of dedication said thing entails. Rob (Cournoyer) is honestly the best music instructor I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing(I was in band from elementary school through high school as a percussionist). He has an obvious passion for teaching and music in general. The lessons are tailored to the students general knowledge of the instrument as well as their personalities…everyone learns differently & he seems to have an innate ability to make complex concepts seem simple. Not only is she learning to play the drum set, she’s also learning how to read and decipher sheet music….and he somehow makes it fun the entire time. He obviously loves what he does and it shows.

My daughter has been taking drum lessons for almost 10 months and we have enjoyed it tremendously. Her instructor Rob is very knowledgeable and is able to relay the information in an “easy to understand” way. We’ve also done other camps including camp spin-off and Summer Jam Camp. My daughter has become more confident as a result. We love the creativity the Cournoyer Center fosters for their students!

This is a very dynamic organization doing things that no one else in the area is doing. I am very impressed with all of the different performing arts opportunities they offer for our local area.
