Corpus Christi Yacht Club runs a youth sailing summer camp on Corpus Christi Bay for children ages 6 to 18, with 'Learn to Sail' classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced sailors ages 8 to 16. Each class takes two weeks, running 8:30am to 3:00pm daily with aftercare available until 4:30pm for an extra fee, and campers may take several classes across the summer. Sailors learn water safety, rigging, basic sailing skills, knots, nautical terminology and weather, and finishers become eligible for the club's junior race team. Club membership is not required to enroll.
