Confidence Learning Center, known as Camp Confidence, is an outdoor center on 140 acres on Sylvan Lake in the Brainerd Lakes area serving people of all ages with developmental and cognitive disabilities and the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Year-round outdoor education and recreation such as archery, fishing and cross-country skiing is used to build self-help skills, behavior management, independent living, social adaptability, work habits and leisure skills. Specialty camps include Camp Journey for children who have suffered a major loss, Camp Sertoma for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, Fishing Has No Boundaries, a MOFAS camp, and Dreams & Inspirations. The center receives no local, state or federal funding and runs on donations.

No matter the time of year, there are endless options of activities that meet the needs of everyone. Whether you’re an animal lover, more leisurely, active or creative, you will not be disappointed. Our participants always come home with fun stories to tell their friends of how they overcame a new fear while zip-lining, or learned something new while at the petting zoo. It’s a beautiful campsite and the cabins are spacious enough to meet the needs of larger groups. The staff are flexible and patient with the campers, they fully understand how to meet the needs of adults with disabilities. I strongly recommend taking your loved one to confidence learning center!

They work with adults,children and families that have disabilities both physical and mental diminished capacity. I feel the attention,help and involvement the staff give is awesome! They also do fund raising activities that helps run the facility! Truly a beautiful place and people! They have now started a Lions Club here! Hoping for great things from adding the club!
