Powered by GoogleWe are newer to camping, so we appreciate the abundant bathrooms, showers, and great eating options at CRCG. And closing the campground avenues to cars during the week provides a much safer way for kids or those with a disability to navigate and explore safely.
Beautiful place with wonderful staff
We stayed here between Christmas and New Year's Day. I was surprised to see how full the cottages were at this time of the year. There were people traveling from Ontario and Indiana based on the license plates I read that were parked at the cottages. Beds were comfortable, noise levels were at acceptable levels, and the unit was clean. An issue I had was that the cottages each have one designated parking space labeled with the name of the cottage you were staying at. For instance, ours was the "Friendship" cottage and we had one designated parking space with the sign clearly labeled with our unit's name. Not the conference ground's fault, but maybe the honor system doesn't work here and tags of some sort should be issued to each car parked in those spots during their stay. I wish that people occupying the cottages would follow the expectations of the cottages. We had two to three nights where our designated parking spot was being occupied by another vehicle. My husband tracked down our neighbor who knew the owner of the car parked there. Our neighbor told us the owner parked there because someone else was parked in his designated spot. I don't know...it just doesn't sit well with me that at a Christian conference grounds someone breaks rules and expectations simply for their own convenience while inconveniencing another. I could have taken someone else's spot those two to three nights, but I chose not to because it would be the wrong thing to do. Again, perhaps the conference grounds could issue tags to be placed in vehicles that are planned to be occupying those designated spaces to prevent this from happening and have vehicles towed at the car owner's expense. There is something the grounds could do to mitigate this problem. I'm sure it wasn't the first time this has happened to someone. I do want to acknowledge that my husband left some electronics in the cottage we stayed at and the director of the grounds met up with him so that he could retrieve his items he left behind at an odd hour of the evening. That was much appreciated and we are so full of gratitude for that. Other than the parking problem with our neighbors, it was a peaceful stay and I would recommend a stay here during it's off-season.
We had our wedding ceremony here in May and absolutely love the space! The pavilion is so gorgeous and the places to take photos seem endless. Even though it did rain and was quite cold, we are still glad we held it here and held it outside. I feel like this place is kind of a hidden gem, specifically for wedding ceremonies. Sarah was just so kind and helpful and we appreciated her very much rehearsal and wedding day.
My family friends have been coming here for years and it really is such a wonderful place!
