Columbus School of Music and Dance
Private
The Columbus School of Music and Dance runs week-long half-day summer camps for young children alongside its year-round music lessons and dance classes. Its 2026 camps include a Princess Tea Party Dance Camp for ages 3-10 (June 8-12, 9 a.m. to noon, $119) teaching ballet and creative movement with fairytale crafts and a closing performance, Little Mozart Piano Camp for ages 4-6 and 7-10, and Instrument Safari for ages 3-12 (July 13-17, 9 a.m. to noon) rotating campers through music-mind games, instrument discovery, voice and crafts. Camps are open-enrollment and half-day, so they will not cover a full workday.

Powered by GoogleThis is one of my favorite places in Columbus. The teachers are professional, and sweet. The environment is relaxed and peace. My children have the BEST time in their piano and ballet classes. We attended the camps over the summer and they have been the MOST fun! I highly recommend this school! The kids enjoy it and that’s what’s most important. What we enjoy stays with us. Create a happy memory as they learn! Looking forward to Art classes and adding another instrument too for each of my girls!
My daughter LOVES it here. And We’ve been to several different dance studios before. our favorite was actually prodigy but this ended up being a better option for us. Everyone is so nice from the lady’s at the front desk to all the teachers for dance and also music. My daughter has learned so much over the few years she’s been going here and has excelled in what she loves. The recitals have always been very well thought out, rehearsed, and prepared for. We haven't had a single issue. They do a great job at informing each student as well as each class of events times and expectations. Our most recent recital was performed at the springer opera house and my daughter did so well and so did the rest of the girls. The recital was beautiful! This is a very professional studio and I can see my daughter attending here for many years to come.
My daughter loves their dance classes (Ballet & Tap/Jazz combo). Their prices are reasonable especially when compared to others in the area! Teachers are easy to talk to as well as patient with the kids.
As an adult student, I greatly appreciate Miss Jen's enthusiasm, encouragement, and patience. I had to wait a long time to be able to afford the music lessons I dreamed of as a child, and I'm so grateful I found the instructor I did first try. The star deduction isn't regarding the quality of the lessons, but the scheduling for the school overall. There are week long and multi-week-long breaks from lessons 3 times a year at least, on top of other holiday closures, and this can be very jarring to learning and practice. There was less than a month and a half between the return from Spring Break and the start of Summer Break this year to boot. And admittedly, some of the actual furniture and school equipment could use some extra love or timely replacement. All that said, I've experienced and heard nothing but good things about the music instructors, and I've met students of all ages and abilities. The front desk employees are always kind and patient, too. It's a wonderful staff for lessons!
Very poor experience in the 2 years that my daughter danced here. They constantly change teachers and class times without informing parents of the schedule changes. The billing errors are a constant every month problem. They over charged and then they refuse to reimburse the money or even credit it towards classes the next month. When I asked to speak with a manager or the owner about the billing errors, I am constantly told by a the young male at the front desk that he will leave them a message and call me back to set up a call. He never does any of that. And honestly the dance classes are not worth the money. There are better dance studios in Columbus that are way more organized.
