The Colorado Springs Racquet Club, established in 1965, runs Summer Junior Tennis Camps for boys and girls ages 8-16 that focus on stroke technique, match-play strategy, physical workouts and games, with players evaluated on the first day and grouped by level from beginner through tournament. Camps run as four-day Tuesday-to-Friday sessions from 9:00am to noon, held outdoors on the club's courts and moved indoors in bad weather. Sessions are open to both members and non-members, and the camp is directed by USPTA-certified coach Hans Carlson.

One of the best sports spot at the Colorado Springs!
We joined the club in March with very little tennis experience. My kids have been absolutely LOVING their lessons with Eric (he really makes it so much fun and is an excellent teacher!). I have been taking some group lessons with Eric as well and just joined a 2.5 women's league. I've met so many awesome ladies! They are so encouraging and fun to play with, and so patient with me when my lack of experience shows! (Still working on my serve!) My husband and I are excited to go to their next "mixer" (you get assigned into different mixed doubles matches based on your level). It sounds fun (and an easy way to meet more people).
Great club, treat everyone like family. Fitness center is nice. Older equipment but you have the place to yourself most of the time. Tennis and swimming programs are great. I do wish they had better hours for beginner youth tennis. Starting at 330 when many kids don't get out of school until later doesn't make sense.
Love the family atmosphere. It's one of those places where everyone knows your name. The staff definitely do. Love the new remodel that did and they maintain their courts very well and always have water at all of the courts. I'm told the swimming pool has an amazing view too. Nice variety of food and drinks (adult beverages too). They would definitely get the fifth star of the lights worked on the outdoor courts.
