Color Me Mine is a paint-your-own-pottery studio chain; the Sioux Falls location runs Color Me Kids, a summer art program of themed pottery-painting sessions with a different project each day. Each two-hour session (10 a.m.-noon) is capped at 20 painters and includes pottery, instruction, materials, glazing and firing, across five themed weeks.

Powered by GoogleI absolutely loved the experience of being able to paint my own designs. I really appreciated the variety of porcelain pieces available to decorate—they came in different designs, sizes, and price points. I also really liked that the staff was always attentive, ready to help, guide, and assist us with whatever we needed. Upon arriving, I noticed that this is an activity suitable for all kinds of groups—friends, children, couples, and more. The prices were very affordable, and the atmosphere was super cool!
Very very fun! Huge range of different items to choose from. There are a lot of different price points too. The only thing I did not love was time limit of a party. I understand it but I feel like it wasnt enough time to complete a project.
I had the most disappointing customer service here today. I wanted to treat my grandpa on his 98th birthday since he loves painting, but they don’t take reservations. We walked in, as that was our only choice, and even though there were a number of empty tables, they told us there was a waitlist. This is understandable given it was a weekend, but they then refused to give us even a rough estimation of how long the wait would be. A 98 year old disabled veteran can’t simply wait around for an indeterminate amount of time. I asked if there was any way they would allow us to make some kind of reservation for the future given his age, and they said only if it was a party of at least 8. I really wanted to do this with my grandfather, but I think given their restrictions and their unwillingness to adapt for disabled or older people like him, it just won’t be possible. I hope going forward they will allow exceptions for people who want to enjoy the studio space and experience, but might need adjusted service.
We are “frequent flyers” of this establishment for the last 7 years. We’ve spent hundreds on pottery, and it’s a favorite to return with our family to have a relaxing and creative time. We really do love the experience and so we are willing to pay for it. Whenever we come, the staff are friendly and helpful. I will caution, and advise, for busy weekends to skip making plans to attend. Unless they change how clients can actually make reservations or get on a waitlist for a table, the likelihood of getting space when you walk in is very low for holiday weekends. I imagine it’s much different for weekdays, but I was irritated twice this weekend when we attempted to bring our family for time together and found a 20 person waitlist in front of us (multiple hours) with no way to put your name on the list online. We asked if we could call in for waitlist the next day and were told yes. So today, we called shortly after the facility opened (Sunday) and said we had a party of three we’d like to come in to paint. We were told there was plenty of room and to come on over, which we did (10ish minutes later). Only to walk in behind another couple who took the last remaining table there, and be told that we could “get on a waitlist” again. Explain to me how this is fair or makes sense when we had JUST called over to inform we’d be on our way for a table? An online reservation system or waitlist check in would be a valuable service, even if only implemented for the weekends. Sioux Falls is busy and family oriented and this type of facility is a wonderful activity…. But hard to plan around, and in a very inconvenient and congested corner of town.
Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable & willing to help & give advice. It is a very chill relaxed atmosphere & pretty reasonably priced.
