Code Ninjas College Station runs week-long summer coding camps for kids ages 5-14 at its Highway 6 center. Camps meet Monday through Friday in three-hour half-day blocks, mornings 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and afternoons 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and extended hours can be purchased after registration for families who need longer coverage. Camp weeks are themed around robotics, Roblox, Minecraft and YouTube content creation, and the center also runs year-round JR (ages 5-7) and CREATE (ages 8-14) coding programs.

Code Ninjas was one of the few establishments that offered in-person gatherings for children, and also did so in a very health conscious way that sought to protect and put the kids first. You could tell that they cared about the children’s well-being, and part of the reason why they stayed open was because they understood the importance of children interacting with other children. Since that time, my daughter has continued to code and grow. Everyone at Code Ninjas has been amazing, from the owner, David, to the manager, Kischel, to all the Senseis (some of which were once ninjas themselves). Sadly, we are moving and my daughter will no longer be able to attend, but it’s been a blessing to have had Code Ninjas be a part of our journey. If you want to expose your kiddos to STEM, and specifically coding, I’d encourage you to check out Code Ninjas!

Then doing coding over the summer he has increased 3 reading levels between the end of 1st grade and the beginning on 2nd. His logic skills have dramatically increased as well and his ability to realize the purpose of tests and that sometimes you just have to do something, even if you don’t immediately see the purpose. He is not the most athletic, and this has given him confidence that he doesn’t have to be good at sports to find somewhere he fits. On top of it all he is learning a skill and a way to logically solve problems. These are tools he can use throughout his life.
