Code Girls United is a Montana nonprofit, founded in 2016, that provides free, after-school programs for girls in 4th – 12th grade. Girls meet once a week after school throughout the year, 4:00pm – 5:30pm, at school sites across Montana and at the organization's Flathead Valley office in Kalispell. The first half of the year covers computer science and coding fundamentals using MIT's App Inventor; in the second half the girls form teams, identify a community need, complete a business case and code an app as their solution, then compete in local, country and international competitions.
