Horseback-centered ranch camp on 160 acres at the northern edge of Santa Rosa, running both sleepaway and day programs since 1947. Sleepaway camp (ages 7-14, going into grades 2-9) houses campers in cabins in a small Western town and lets them build their own schedule from over 25 activities including riding, zip lining, archery, riflery, sports, drama and arts and crafts; day camp runs as Classic Day Camp (ages 4-12, $560/week) or a horse-focused Equestrian Day Camp (ages 9-12, $815/week, minimum four rides plus a Friday horse show). Resident sessions run one week ($1,700) or two weeks ($2,500) from early June through early August, and campers going into grades 10-12 attend through the CILT leadership program, which discounts or waives tuition by year. Scholarships are offered; registration is through Active.

Our nine-year-old just returned from his second year of sleep-away camp (He attended the day camp when he was younger.) and he has so many positive things to say. The counselors were fun and supportive. The activities were engaging. Thomas loved the food. This year he encouraged a friend from school to join him. That boy had a great time, and they both made new friends too. Thomas came back with greater confidence and displaying more independence too. We can't wait to get back the pictures he took with his disposable camera! What I love best, besides hearing the stories about him getting up early to care for the horses that he once found intimidating, was the call we received from Dawn mid-week. We weren't worried. We've had great experiences at Cloverleaf. We know the ratios of campers to counselors allows for attentive care. Still, the mid-week phone call telling us how his week was going just reinforced how much the staff really cares. For this reason, Cloverleaf will continue to be a Cremidis family tradition for many years to come. Next year, little brother will be old enough for residential camp and he's already making plans for how he'll spend his time.
★★★★★Matt LaneCalled in about a trail ride earlier in the week for the weekend, and Dawn was able to squeeze us in. Little did I know that she was handling the clerical work, riding lesson, and the ride/tour from start-to-finish. The horses are sweet and quirky, and very used to working with new riders. Between the horses and Dawn's guidance, my hesitation for actually getting to ride was gone in the thirty minute crash course. Even as a complete newbie, they put you in charge of riding your horse and you are privileged with being in control and managing your place on the trail ride. The trust they give you even as someone completely new is empowering; just make sure you follow instructions! A lot of their programs are geared towards younger people, but it's never too late to try something new. If you are at all nervous about trying something like this, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot!

The wranglers did an awesome job leading the girls through the badge activities, especially wrangler Tessy. She was very knowledgeable and engaging with the girls scouts. The activities were very well organized, and well executed. My daughter has also been going to summer camps here for 5 years, and it's one of her favorites. All their staff are amazing! I would definitely recommend this ranch for riding lessons, camps, and girl scout badge activities!
