The Chilmark Community Center has run summer programming on Martha's Vineyard for nearly 70 years, offering morning programs for children through evening events for the whole community. Kids' options include Playschool (ages 3.5-4) and Little Sprouts (age 5) blending art, music, gardening and movement; a morning activity program for ages 6-14; sailing for ages 8-14 of all abilities; an open-water swimming and water-safety program that builds toward lifeguard certification (ages 7-10 and 11-15 on set weekdays); and a late-summer performing arts camp for ages 6 and up. Tennis is woven into every camper's week, and the center also runs adult classes, lectures and music events in July and August.

A great evening of auctions, dancing and fabulous tasting oysters at the Martha's Vineyard Shellfish Group fundraiser in Chilmark.

Horrific leadership led by the board has tainted what could be a really impactful summer program for the island. It is imperative the leaders of this org see people of color as their equals, not as show ponies to check off the diversity + inclusion box.

Great community space for functions and activities. We highly recommend checking it out the next time you are planning a party.

They run various inexpensive events at the community center throughout the summer. It's nice to have some activities to bring young children to. The grounds are well-maintained and It shares a field with a school. Parking is there but limited so you may want to park at the school.
