Children's Safety Village

Our camp recently visited the village and our students have had an amazing time. They were engaged and learned to much even with our older children. Their staff were so kind and worked well with the children. Extremely accommodating as well. They had so much to do even outside the scheduled activities. A trip we would love to take again

Awesome experience for elementary kids. Presentations were gun safety and water safety. Students were able to play on the huge playground and eat lunch under the pavillion.

I visited the Children's Safety Village with my son’s school on 02/23/2024. Some improvements should be taken into consideration with working with small children and large groups. It would help if there were structure and schedule details given at the beginning of the field trip. Our group was unable to hear most of the safety information provided because the instructor did not speak loud enough or place the groups in areas that would help everyone hear what was being discussed. Further, I do not agree informational videos are the best choice for kindergartners. Instructors should use loudspeakers or a mega mic to help accommodate group listening and invitingly provide information. The water safety portion of our trip was enjoyable. My group was especially glad for the instructors who decided to speak out about water safety instead of hitting play. Our groups would have enjoyed being able to use the amenities unfortunately we were not permitted to use the playground or to explore the village. Please consider fixing up the pavilion as well there were several safety hazards for small children. For example, the broken sharp concrete pieces lying around in the back end of the pavilion, and there were deep holes around, where children were trying to stick their foot in. This location has potential but needs team members that are passionate and not annoyed about teaching safety. 😊

We took a field trip here and participated in several classes. My kids enjoyed it overall. Great playground to use afterwards was probably their favorite part. The fire safety class included the children practicing what to do in case of fire when you are in bed in a real house with simulated smoke and a warm door. The pedestrian class involved practicing at cross walks. I thought it was worth our time.

This is one of Orlando's hidden treasures. A must see/visit for all children. Take a tour as a family or summer camp trip. N.A.O.M.I. Kids have been there 3 years straight for summer camp field trips and each time has been priceless. Thank you Ms. Darlene and Deputy Tom for making each visit memorable for the kids. Looking forward to next year and many more years to come as you keep adding to the experience.
