4-H Camp Cherry Lake, operated by UF/IFAS Florida 4-H on Cherry Lake in Madison County, has historically offered a residential (overnight) summer camp with lake swimming, kayaking, archery, fishing, and campfire activities, housing roughly 120-158 campers in cabins. At present the site provides limited facility use and no overnight summer camp while it prepares for construction and facility improvements.

★BusinessThe people at lake are rude it's true and now they shut the lake down completely I went there and the gate was closed, just sad ... Used to be a good place now people have absolutely no place to go to to swim or rest, fish or boat... Local government sucks
★Delaney FutchWe took our family out today to Cherry Lake, we pulled up at 10:45 after. 45 min drive from Live Oak. The man monitoring the parking lot was pretty rude. Apparently there are only 7 boat/trailer parking spots- all of which were full when we arrived. The man working immediately told us we had to leave and come back, okay fine. But he would not move away from our truck so we could turn around, even after asking him to step away. He wouldn’t let us pull to the side and wait for a spot to open up. The entire parking area for cars was empty. We’ve decided to not try to go back to cherry lake, after the 45 min drive towing the boat it was not worth it to go and find out. I should say, prior to this trip we had been to Cherry Lake one time. We had a great time. There was nobody monitoring the boat ramp, no workers anywhere and there were definitely more than 7 boats. This is why we had high hopes for this visit. Unfortunately this lake is not for us.

We went in with three cars and a boat, I got an envelope and was going to put the money in but I said “there is no ticket to rip off to put in the windshield.” That man came over and said it would be 28 dollars. Fine! We don’t carry much cash but I know we ( between us all had 28 dollars) my husband made a comment “I don’t know if they have any cash” right away instead of saying there is a store up the road with an ATM WE GOT greeted with “WELL THEN SOMEBODY HAS TO LEAVE” then when we asked if they give military discounts this guy says yes. We were 6 dollars short to begin with and with my sons military discount we would have been short 2 dollars which we had. Anyway my son that was finally home for months went to the store came back gave the guy 6 dollars that he insisted was owed don’t get no military discount only attitude. not helpful at all. 3 stars because the kids had fun.
★★★★★Robert BoleThe Florida Bike Safari uses the camp for the second half of our bicycle trip. Some people stay in the dorm, others camp in tents, others stay in the cabins and a few bring RVs. The place is a nice headquarters for the bicycle rides. The stay is always around Easter so the weather, except for occasional rain, is very good.
