When you run a sports league especially for young things I think teaching fundamentals and making sure rules are followed is key. I can tell teams in this organization that have played awhile only care about winning. Anything in terms of rules or standards of the game are ignored and all they do is blame others. This administration is very hands off and the volunteers do nothing to stop this kind of behavior. I would not recommend unless you are like everyone of these people who have a mentality of “as long as other are breaking the rules it’s okay” type of mentality. Only thing the administration does is to send emails stating parents and coaches not to talk to each other. Emails sent to administration also ignored.

The house league would benefit from having an administrator or team provide more oversight and training for sports officials and coaches to ensure that fundamental concepts and rules are taught and implemented during its basketball leagues. The lead official in the 3rd/4th grade league did not demonstrate an understanding of basketball concepts and implemented his own rules autonomously throughout the Spring 2025 season and this was unchecked by the league after significant complaints from parents and coaches. As a volunteer coach, it was beyond frustrating to see incompetence from that individual who was appointed and compensated to represent the league. The league also needs to find a way to manage its overload of registered players who do not commit to games and practice activities which makes it difficult for committed players to develop and compete. CYA basketball is a great community vehicle but the organization should take steps to hire/appoint qualified people to represent the league and optimize its value in the community.

They’re soccer coach is not good. I understand they are volunteer parents ! But they dont take care another kids also the practice always not on time..

The reviews led me to believe this would be the right organization to enroll child at to learn how to play soccer, but it is not. There was a misunderstanding with the enrollment and what type of event I signed her up for. I reached out as soon as I found out, before the schedules were developed and coaches were assigned in order to withdraw her. However the communication on their end is lacking overall, and I am very disappointed there has been no resolution on updating the enrollment to the correct event, or a refund, despite multiple follow ups.

Phenomenal experience. In less than a year my 2 boys Omar and Kareem have excelled so much in the sport of soccer and their confidence level has become fantastic. The coaches are absolutely amazing Coach Sufian is probably the best coach I have ever seen and I am a soccer fanatic Who has been around the sport For decades. Coach Sergio is also amazing! Too many great coaches to name in CYA!
