This Gateway Region YMCA location at Carondelet Park Recreation Complex in south St. Louis hosts YMCA Summer Day Camp, a traditional day camp for children (generally ages 5-12) with arts and crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, and weekly field trips, with most activities held outdoors. Camps run in weekly sessions across the summer. Before- and after-camp care (Fun Club, 7am-6pm) extends the day for working families, and YMCA financial assistance helps families afford fees.

Powered by GoogleIt's a Y, it has all the things you need. You want a walking track? Done. You want a lot of heavy things to lift in repetitive motions? Done. You want to get crazy and steamy or maybe you like a dry heat, they have both! Plus no one will tell you this but the have a secret hot tub it's next to the pool. Everyone is super nice, the trainers seem cool *disclaimer I have not used a personal trainer* (insert trainer name here) after I'm in great shape and have huge muscles. It's great if you're still reading this just go, it's a YMCA you can have fun and workout
My name is Larry Persons. I was training with my 14yo today. I walked away to check on my 11yo in the pool. When I came back my 14yo was visibly shaken and said a man kept staring at her then approached her when I walked away. Getting on machines next to her mumbling something, sniffing the air. Latino male mid 40s jet black hair working out in street clothes carrying a bag. 10:50am or so is when I was told about this. I have a older daughter that at 14 or so she had a similar issue at a different location. We quit the Y over it. You will see a break in our family membership. I will be handling this differently this time. This needs to noted because this won't be some one off thing this person does. Also if you think following a child around sniffing the air behind her and mumbling who knows what under is breath is something you are not worried about please let me know. My children will feel safe men like this should not feel safe anywhere. Your front desk folks were as helpful as they could be. Emailed to you April 28th. It is June 27th. No emails back except one from a Keelyn Krill which is a phishing scam email.
Josh Harlow is an exceptional trainer. He is patient, intentional, and truly committed to helping clients succeed. He builds a plan, follows through, and knows exactly how to guide even the most beginner gym users toward confidence and real results. I’ve seen firsthand how transformative his approach is.
Was there this morning doing my work out. Minding my own business. There was an older gentleman with a y staff grey tshirt on the chest press and someone he knew on the hip abduction device. I was kind of in the middle. They were talking politics, which I don't care about, free speech. Then the guy in the grey shirt proceeds to laugh and point at me and comment about how he hopes I can't hear them. Proceeding to talk about how much he loves that everyone has earbuds and can't hear him. Dude u should make sure they are on before u talk about people.

The equipment is modern and well-maintained, the pool areas are clean, and the variety of group classes ensures there is something for every fitness level.
