The Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy is CMU's robotics-education group, which runs a summer 'Summer of Learning' program guiding students through programming a virtual robot (movement, sensors, loops, program flow) and earning badges on the CS-STEM Network. It focuses on developing robotics curriculum and teacher training rather than a traditional in-person day camp; the branded robotics summer camps held on CMU's campus are run by outside providers (e.g., iD Tech, Lavner).

I'm a Technology & Engineering Educator with over 30+ years experience in grades 6-12 public education and I just stopped in to say the robotics and engineering curriculum provided by CMRA is 2nd to none. I started using the VEX EDR curriculum over 10 years ago and their lessons are so well written, detailed, methodical, and full of excellent multi-media. I was motivated this morning, to come here and give this review, because I recently completed the "Open-Loop Navigation with Arduino ShieldBot" unit of instruction and I found it to be excellent....10/10! The way they compiled all the activities and instruction into one final activity called "Making Improvements" is pure Engineering at its finest for high school education. When I look back at all my years of using their curriculum and comparing it to others I've used, I just come to the inescapable conclusion that CMRA's curriculum is THE best and most certainly money well spent!
