Carlyle Sailing Association runs a residential Junior Sail Camp on Carlyle Lake, inside Eldon Hazlet State Park about an hour east of St. Louis. The five-day program takes kids 10 through 16, provides the sailboats, and teaches basic sailing, boating safety and an introduction to racing alongside other water games and adventures; all meals, snacks and tent camping are included, with certified adult instructors, chaperones and medical staff on site throughout. The club also lists a Kinder Sail Camp reported to start at age 6 for younger children. Carlyle Lake is one of the largest sailing lakes in the Midwest, and the association is a member-run sailing club.

Powered by GoogleThis is the best sailing association in the Saint Louis metropolitan area. CSA has several loaner boats and instructors for beginners. The club fees are very low. The club has the only youth sailing education program in the area. On site camping for members, bath house, training and meal building. Ask about summer youth camps.
This is a great family-oriented place. This is no pretentions sailing. Great youth program. Very inexpensive seasonal boat storage. Great racing community - people share how to sail better.
Linda taught us to sail! It was a great experience and we'll be members again in 2022! Thank you, Linda!
Just had a short visit, seems like a friendly place, Bob, the harbor master took us on a short tour around the club area. He was very informative and made us feel welcome.
Harbor master could be friendlier. Good lake to sail at, CSA has a day rate to allow use of the facilities and there is camping nearby at Hazlet State Park.
