The Carbon Valley Gymnastics Center is the Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District's gym in Frederick, equipped with a full-sized competition floor, an in-ground tumble trak leading into a large foam pit, a cargo net and a full range of preschool and boys' and girls' apparatus. The district's summer camp serves ages 5-13 and mixes swimming, field trips, time on the gymnastics center equipment, arts and crafts, physical activities and games, at $275 for district residents and $412.50 for non-residents. The center also runs year-round gymnastics classes, including beginner gymnastics for ages 7 and up and Compulsory and Optional team programs for ages 6-16.

★Birhanu BerheI enrolled my 3-year-old daughter at Carbon Valley Gymnastics Center and paid $127 for the summer session. Unfortunately, due to our family’s tight schedule, she was only able to attend 3 classes. When I asked if she could make up the missed classes or be offered any flexibility, I was told nothing could be done because of their rules. While I understand policies, I believe a community-focused program should show more flexibility for families, especially with young children. It feels unfair to collect full payment without offering reasonable options. I hope they consider changing this approach to better serve the community.
