The Cape Girardeau SportsPlex, a City of Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation facility, hosts a week-long summer sports camp where kids work on basketball, volleyball and soccer fundamentals plus speed and agility training, and play non-traditional sports like ultimate frisbee, disc golf and pickleball. Campers get a t-shirt, bring a sack lunch Monday–Thursday (Friday lunch provided) and receive snacks; childcare is offered before and after the camp day.

It is hard to navigate through the courts to get to the back area… wish they would have allowed for some walking paths, but over all, it’s definitely the nicest one I’ve been to. I like that they have actual food options, not just a bunch of junk. Takes a while to get thru the line but they are always hustling behind the counter and everyone is friendly.
★★Monica BreilingI’ve recently been to the SportsPlex 3 different times to watch my granddaughter play in volleyball tournaments. The facility itself is very nice but it is in bad need of more seating in the lobby. There’s not enough room to sit in the bleachers provided at the courts unless your team is playing. If your team isn’t playing, you need to wait somewhere else. There are so many people that’s it’s impossible to find a place to sit. Secondly, you need additional places to purchase food. The lines at the two concessions provided are LONG and SLOW! So many people need to purchase food for their kids in between games and it’s almost impossible. If you do manage to get food, there’s no place to sit and eat. Why not invite food trucks, Little Cesar’s to sell pizza by the slice, or Taco Bell or anything else to help speed it up for families. Very frustrating!

VogelThe facility is extremely clean and well-maintained, with an incredible and very professional staff, although unfortunately, the concessions opened 20 minutes later than posted and almost an hour after the Saturday volleyball games started, with hundreds of people looking for food and beverages. And on top of that, the concessions closed just after the lunch hour, with all the courts still in use with tournament games, and the complex still packed with families. Missed opportunities for whoever is running the SportsPlex facility, while frustrating hundreds of attendees.
★JulieSame as Conway Arkansas. Complex is beautiful, facilities are awesome. But they intentionally make it a food desert, and prohibit any food coming in. And then the places that offer food within the complex are either an understaffed and under prepared…and sell out or give us smoothie bowls of soup…or offer only fried foods that are not particularly great. Event centers need to stop being greedy and either allow us to feed ourselves or provide sufficient resources. Literally have to plot and scheme in order to feed your athlete. SO annoying.
