I appreciated the worship services and the kindness of the staff. They genuinely cared about the campers and worked hard with the resources they had. However, there were several concerns that I feel need to be addressed. The food quality was very poor, and many of the kids chose not to eat because of it. Improving the meals should be a priority. Another concern was supervision. There did not seem to be enough staff, and while the adults were in meetings, children were often left unsupervised with no one patrolling the grounds. For a youth camp, this raises important safety concerns. The facilities also need significant maintenance. Many of the buildings could use fresh paint, and several rooms had peeling or chipped paint on the walls and ceilings. Much of the outdoor furniture was worn out and should be repaired or replaced. Overall, the spiritual atmosphere was encouraging, but the condition of the camp and the lack of upkeep were disappointing. Considering the costs associated with attending, I found myself wondering where the funds are being invested, as the facilities do not appear to be well maintained. I hope these concerns are taken seriously so the camp can provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for future campers.

Last year was our first year and we've been to many camps in the past. Of course every camp is different but I will say the youth loved it. The only thing they didn't like is not being able to just go hang out in their room because they don't have the key LOL as a leader I thought that works for me because now they have to be out interacting and involved. The rooms were small to put 6 people in but guess what NOBODY minded ! It was actually fun. The food was great and service fast! They had Gatorade available all day, They had plenty of extra curricular activities to chose from and they were very organized and friendly. Services and worship were great . My favorite area was the Lodge for us adults to hang out in. Free coffee available all the time and I loved the decor because I felt like I was in my favorite place "the mountains " . We had a foster girl in our room and my girls treated her like a sister. Overall I would definitely recommend this camp and so would my youth. Florida Avenue Baptist Avon Park

So this place is a bit of a mix bag for those of you looking for a church camp. The hotel rooms they use for dorms are cramped and old. It took effort to get under the shower head height. They bragged about the food being the best camp food. I wouldn’t recommend that. It was not very good and most of my students didn’t eat much (portions were small anyway) and skipped meals because of that. I say all that to manage expectations. It is an older campus. All that said they have great morning activities. They really put a lot of effort into having fun things to do and plenty of free time to enjoy them. They have very nice people working there. I didn’t get names of any of the camp staff. They would benefit from working at Chick-fil-A for a few weeks before signing on with Camp Real Life. The preacher our week was great… Joel is a great guy. The worship team did a great job. They obviously invest a lot of time in that aspect of camp. The games were the same games I ran for camps in the 90s. Overall I think they care and they give a great effort. They have a very balanced approach to outreach and order. They are working on building a great camp. For now I would say it was a good camp. Tried to be honest in my review for other pastors/leaders.

The camp is well run and the lodge, meeting hall, and dining room are great. My room, well... the bunk beds were solid. In fairness, the camp is going through maintenance. Overall, the grounds are beautiful and it was a good experience.

We had an absolutely amazing week at camp! The staff truly care about reaching these kids, leading them to Jesus and making sure they have an amazing time! It was an honor to be a camp counselor and I can’t wait to go back. The new camp site is in need of updates but they are actively working towards that as the funds become available. Please consider donating if you can. We saw so many lives changed in just 5 days!!
