Camp Woodie is a week-long overnight camp for ages 7-16 run by the South Carolina Waterfowl Association, a nonprofit, on Old River Road in Pinewood. Sessions run Sunday to Friday and center on outdoor and hunting-heritage skills: archery, shooting sports, fishing, canoeing, ziplining, climbing, wildlife education and conservation programming. The camp is intentionally tech-free, has operated since 1995, and has been accredited by the American Camp Association since 2018.

He told us he loved the food, couldn’t pick a favorite activity because he enjoyed them all, and said he easily could have stayed a few more days. He’s already asking when he can go back next summer, and we are already planning to make it happen. Camp Woodie, thank you for creating such a meaningful experience. Thank you for giving our youth a place to grow, connect, and thrive in a world surrounded by screens and devices.
