Camp Whitsett is a Boy Scouts of America residential (sleepaway) summer camp near Kernville, owned and operated by the Western Los Angeles County Council since 1947. It runs a full Scout summer camp program in June and July with merit-badge instruction and dedicated ranges for rifle, shotgun, pistol, archery, and muzzleloader shooting. Programs serve Scouts and Cub Scouts.

★★★★★Coby HazanHad a great stay at Camp Whitsett with Troop 680! The grounds were great and had a gorgeous view. Great hikes near by as well as like Dome Rock, Natural Water Slide trail, Nobe Young Falls and Sequoia National Forest. Definitely would go back this location.

★★★★★Ethan2022 Camper alumnus during the Vietnamese Scout Jamboree and 2023 Staffer. It's an amazing camp. There's much to do, and if you ever get bored of Sentinel Peak, (you won't), you can always spend a night right under the stars at the Wilderness Overnight or go hiking with the staff on Saturday night at midnight up Sentinel Peak. I wouldn't trade coming to this camp for anything. Will be returning to staff this summer!
★★★★Traves O'NeillCamp Whitsett runs a great program and the creeks that run through camp are a great relief during the summer heat (multiple days of 100 degrees during our week's stay). Due to the extreme weather conditions this last winter, there was no lake during our stay but they hope to have it back by next summer. Had there been a lake and better food, I would have given 5 stars. (I did not like the food at all. Especially the cold (as in frozen) eggs served for breakfast one meal. The COPE course was a lot of fun. I wish they had run a week long adult program.
★★★★Troy NIt was hot.. And dusty.... And hot. Did I mention that it was hot? Lol Great place that I went to a week ago for my son's scouting camp. There were areas where a fire took out huge swathes as well as small random spots. Weird. Camp tents and cots were beaten up and pretty bad. Definitely recommend bringing some zip ties to help the cot support. I brought along a tent and a hammock and slept like a baby...for up to 3 hours at a time. Pretty good based on my history. Staff there was top notch and so friendly. They definitely made my troop's stay enjoyable. There was one staff member named Kanoa that was the star of the show. He is an eagle scout and definitely showcases what that means. Food was pretty bad at first. It improved as the week went on. I'm pretty sure it was due to a chef named Larry who came in from the Emerald Bay camp on Catalina. Overall it was a tiring, dry and hot week but one that I definitely did not regret. Will be going back with the troop in a couple of years!
