Powered by GoogleI went there last year and I loved it and when it is really hot out they let us have some free time at the pool and the slides and the rock climbing wall its so much fun but me and my mom had to wait 1 hour in the car to get in and for me to get unpacked but its so much fun and if anyone in cabin 11 sees this pls say something abt this like a hi or whatever.
We sent our two girls here for camp this summer for one week. After much consideration regarding no contact during the week and hearing some rather unfavorable reviews from mom's, we couldn't be happier with our experience. Let me explain. Our oldest daughter who went has a hard time making friends and tends to have low self-confidence. Our youngest is so very shy and gets homesick. Before we were even out of the parking lot, our oldest daughter was already paired up with a friend and the youngest was bounding on her way. While there our bouncing, accident prone child cut her foot. Their camp physician called us, gave us full information, and took her to her sister for a bit. The care she received was outstanding and our parents hearts were nicely soothed. The kids loved everything they were able to learn and do. The staff, doctor, nurses, leaders, and other kids made the week a very good memorable experience.
Camp War Eagle has changed my kids’ lives. Their experiences there have built the character I have prayed for in my kids: perseverance, selflessness, cooperation, and “maximum enthusiasm”. My children consistently share messages like “I feel so comfortable at camp, no one judges you because we’re all the same.” We’ve had the joy of being a part of CWE since 2018 and it’s the absolute highlight of my kids’ summer. As a mental health professional and advocate for kids, I especially appreciate the intentional training all staff go through to prevent grooming, inappropriate behavior, and abuse. There is training and accountability this camp takes seriously, it matters and I applaud their leadership for it. I cannot express how grateful I am for this magical, holy place.
My son is going to a 1-week overnight camp session for the first time this summer. The check-in process is just that, a process. It will take no less than 2 hours to get through it but the thoroughness I very much appreciated. Especially when it comes to my child. The campus is very nice and well maintained. They have so many activities available for the kids (archery, horseback riding, skate park, pools, rock climbing walls, etc). Everyone was super friendly and helpful.
Camp War Eagle has it all! I was able to work with Jake to organize a student retreat in the off season. We were the only group on site apart from CWE staff, and we were well taken care of during our visit. The cooks prepared wholesome meals, and they were responsive to our dietary restrictions. We enjoyed their low ropes and high ropes teambuiding activities, laser tag, and the rock climbing wall. This was only a small fraction of what they have to offer at Camp War Eagle. This place is definitely worth a visit for staff and student/youth retreats.
