Camp Vanasek is a nonprofit camp on Whipple Lake in Baxter that has operated since the 1940s and now runs its summer day camp in partnership with the Brainerd Lakes YMCA, which began in summer 2020. Programming mixes general sports with environmental education and science. The site is entirely handicap-accessible and its large lakefront pavilion near the beach seats more than a hundred campers for meals and group activities.
