Camp Tipton
Private
Camp Tipton is a Christian outdoor camp in Maryville running three summer programs: a nine-week day camp for ages 5-12, an eight-week resident (overnight) camp for ages 9-12, and an eight-week adventure camp for ages 13-14. Programming combines organized outdoor activities with structured free play, and resident camp is sold by the week (recently $375 per camper per week). The camp also operates as a church retreat and conference center the rest of the year. Counselors 18 and older are background checked and every staff member and volunteer must provide a pastoral reference.

My son has autism and it’s very difficult to find places that will take him during the summer. This camp was the first one to give him a chance and the camp director even said my son will always have a place here…that meant the world to me and I feel they really do care about my son
As someone who's been there it's a good place don't get me wrong but some things could be better. For example, Safety need to be reconsidered maturely. Another thing is that It was supposed to be a church camp there was a lot of talk of mafia and killing and drugs and more. Something else that comes to mind is Hydration was a problem. Whenever you were outside most times staff wouldn't let you get water and there was no air conditioning. However there are pros to this list of cons. First, Lots of fun activities. Second, you get into deep conversations about God. Third, Staff were fun to get to know. Fourth, you meet really nice people and make a lot of friends. That's all I have to say hopefully this review helps some people if you wanna send your kid. As someone who spent the week there I hope this helped.
My kids had the worst experience here and learned things that I have been working hard to keep them from. I was shocked when I learned the truth about this place, because all the reviews were great! Where do I start.. Its ran by a bunch of teenagers that do not watch the kids and when they do they are screaming st them. There are kids doing witchcraft here with tarot cards. Talking about going to jail for drugs. This is a Christian based camp and you would think things would be monitored but they do not care. My kids went for 2 days and they will NEVER go back. Big waste of money and now my kids know about drugs! Thanks camp tipton.
A wonderful place to get away and enjoy the much needed outdoors. Been coming up here for years and the area is beautiful and is clearly doing well as every time I have visited it continues to be improved upon. We would often play games with our youth group and I remember two of our really shy kids came out of their shell and ended up getting really close to some of the others. The leadership there has shared some of the things they plan for the future which makes me excited when I will be able to send my kids there in the summer! It’s a good way to get them out of the house from playing video games.
