Carl says camp is where "kids become the best version of themselves, everything you want for your kids," and that really says it all. This isn't just a quote, it's something you can actually feel. Camp Southwoods creates an environment where kids are given the space, support, and encouragement to truly find themselves. They feel accepted for who they are while also growing into who they're becoming, building confidence and a real sense of belonging that stays with them long after summer ends. The impact Camp Southwoods has had on my camper and family is lasting, and I am incredibly grateful.

My daughter had an incredible experience at Camp Southwoods! It was her first year at sleep-away camp, so we were a little nervous. Our nerves were eased immediately when we pulled up to the site. The camp is beautiful and we felt so welcomed by the counselors. We loved getting pictures of her nearly every day through the portal, where she was trying new activities and making new buddies! Her counselors made her feel safe and gave her a space to shine! She has talked about camp pretty much every day since saying goodbye last session. We are definitely looking forward to her return this summer!

We had hoped Camp Southwood would be a place our kids could return to every summer, but unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way. My 12-year-old son, who has attended overnight summer camps every year without problems, had such a negative experience here that for the first time he was sent home early after conflicts with another child. My 10-year-old daughter managed better, but because some people made comments about her brother, she was also affected and didn’t feel fully comfortable. We’re not sure if the other child involved was handled the same way, but overall this was disappointing and not the supportive environment we expected. And not worth the money we spent.

Southwoods camp has become a real fairy tale for my child! Olesia returned home with a lot of incredible impressions and happy memories. Every day was filled with interesting events: exciting games, creative activities, friendly competitions and truly magical evenings around the campfire. Carl and Maddie Acosta, the directors, deserve a special mention. They are so careful in organizing children's leisure time, putting their hearts and souls into every activity. They not only care about safety, but also create an atmosphere where children feel free and important. Olesya and I wish you a Merry Christmas. May the new year bring even more smiles, interesting and joyful adventures to your camp. Thank you for giving children such important moments of happiness and development. I recommend this camp to all parents who want to give their children an unforgettable summer! We look forward to seeing you again in the summer.

Leo, my 15-year-old son, spent 5 weeks this last July there at the Camp and he loved it! He made lots of new friends, from all over the world, and improved his English (We are from Brazil). He also developed his social and leadership skills, autonomy and team-building ability. He arrived last Sunday full of stories to tell us! From mini trips to Niagara Falls + an amusement park to water activities in the lake. Next year I'll surely send my 9-year-old girl!
