Jewish day camp on a 107-acre campus at 2428 Pleasant View Road in Adamstown, founded in 1979 and now serving over 450 campers each summer across a seven-week season. It enrolls children entering pre-K through 10th grade from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC, drawing families from Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, unaffiliated, public-school and day-school backgrounds, and describes itself as a non-judgmental environment centered on positive Jewish identity. The nonprofit also runs year-round programming for children, teens and adults.

★Mandy SweeneyI was at Me Land in Frederick MD today with two of my friends and our children, everything was great until this camp showed up, they had uneven ratio between staff and children. The children were running over our kids, jumping/pushing/trampling over our kids and others to go down the slide and other obstacles and not wait their turn, staff was not paying attention, worrying about taking pictures, we had to say something to multiple staff members to get them to say something to their kids. We ended up leaving because of the kids being too much. Also staff was standing around together besides two that were with there kids. Seen multiple young toddlers wondering around by themselves. My daughter who is two wasn’t able to go down the slide when it was her turn because a group of children wearing the purple shoresh camp shirt pushed her out the way and jumped on the slide, I ended up having to say something to one of the staff and then she said something. Very disappointed to have to shorten our stay to lack of staff members supervising the children.
★Happy Ol LadyThis camp of mixed aged children and staff was at Me Land in Frederick. It was concerning to see camp staff huddled together with phones while toddlers were unattended in the ball pit and bigger children were pushing and running over other children to get to the slides and other play equipment. My own 2 year old was nearly trampled twice. After speaking with 2 different camp staff members nothing was done aboit the children so I left with my own. Luckily patrons can call Me Land in advance to see if this or any other camp will be visiting. Camp Shoresh will not be an option for camp next year as I expect my child to be supervised and this camp was lacking in that department.
