Camp Riverview
Private
Camp Riverview is a free overnight and day camp run by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation on a 200-acre wooded waterfront property in Scotland, Maryland, on the Potomac River about 80 miles from Washington. It serves ages 8-13 for one-week sessions, hosting up to 90 youth per week, with horseback riding, ATV trails through the woods, fishing on the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay, crabbing, pedal boating, wildlife encounters and hands-on environmental education. Enrollment is open exclusively to DC residents and is awarded by lottery in the spring; the camp has operated since the 1960s and explicitly serves underserved communities.

Powered by GoogleThe food(actually cooks) was pretty good, staff was friendly and facilities were clean. They separate by age group and gender. Also have plenty of communication before and during the stay Definitely a nice place to get the kids away from the everyday norm “touch some grass”
Our kids recently completed a week of adventure here with DPR - they had a great time! Facilities were clean, DPR staff were friendly and fun, and the food was (surprisingly) good lol.
A great place for city boys and girls to experience nature. Hiking, swimming & more ..the great outdoors!
Company contacted me asking to remove my previous review because it wasn’t a good look on them. Didn’t discuss any of the issues just didn’t want people seeing what has went on at this camp. Once again keep your kids away.
Awesome experience. Nice staff, well organized, good tours. Love it. Not open to general public though.
