Camp Preston Hunt is a Scouting America (Caddo Area Council) camp on 250-plus acres outside Texarkana, established in 1936 and used year-round for Cub Scout and Scouts BSA camps and outside groups. Facilities include cabins, primitive tent sites, a dining hall, and a lake with canoes. Specific summer program ages are not published.

★★★★★Chad PritchettWe had an amazing, Cub Scout campout at Camp Preston Hunt this weekend located off Tennessee RD in Texarkana, AR, and a much needed father/son time without TV.....If you've never been, it's worth the visit. They have around 15-20 cabins for rent, an Amphitheater, lots of walking trails, a fishing pond/lake, clean restrooms, and many other interesting exploring places including a Pirate Ship structure at the end on one of the trails.....we tent camped for free, so not sure how much a cabin rental would be on a weekend. Anyways all the kids and parents had an awesome time with a family game filled day Saturday, campfire cookout with smores Saturday night, pancake breakfast with eggs, bacon and fruit made by the scouts w/adult supervision. Followed by making a cheap and easy bird feeder w/a birdhouse made from precut wood, then to end the day with an approximate 3 mile trail hike....needless to say, this dad is pooped with sore feet, lol, Hey Dudes are not meant for rocky trail walking....overall, it's definitely one for the memory books for my 10yr old, just glad I was able to do it....I definitely highly recommend Camp Preston Hunt for a weekend getaway!!!

★★★★★Alex SimonAwesome facility and just found out that they teach archery every weekend with boyscouts hosting and teaching. My son had a field trip there and I tagged along. They had many events and a wonderful nature walk where they pointed out the poison ivy to stay away from and a treasure hunt at the end of the walk where ALL kids found treasure!! Awesome place, awesome scouts, and an awesome field trip for my son and myself!!
