Camp Ozanam
Private
Camp Ozanam is a free overnight camp run by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit for boys and girls ages 8-14, with swimming, sports, arts and crafts, an animal farm, team building and skits. It runs a five-week summer program; campers are referred through schools, parishes and St. Vincent de Paul conferences across seven southeast Michigan counties rather than enrolling directly. The 34-acre camp sits on the Lake Huron shoreline near Port Sanilac, roughly two hours north of Detroit, and has run in a Catholic tradition since 1923.

Powered by GoogleMy son (Jordan) loves it here, each year he can’t wait for summer just to return to camp.
I went there for a spiritual retreat the grounds are well-maintained the cabins were terrific. it sits on Lake Huron, you can walk down the hill and all the way we had Sunrise meetings. The dining facility can deat 80 to 100 people.
I went to camp Ozanam 1953/54 And enjoyed every minute of it as I hope you will enjoy some of the photos and help me identify some of the people
I spend a lot of time here. My favorite place to go and look for pretty stones, to go for a swim, to unwind, to take nice long beach walks, and to witness the sheer beauty of the lake and surrounding beaches. Ozanam is a camp that is available for rent and I think it is quite reasonable although I have not rented from them myself. They have a wonderful beach that is semi-private. The trail down to the beach can change due to weather and erosion issues and some parts may be steep and/or rocky, muddy, mucky, and may be difficult for some people to climb up or down. Mid summers it can be buggy, especially if it is at dusk or when humidity is heavy, so bring some bug spray. Parking can be limited to the public, it’s located at the end of walker road, however, the camp has its own parking lots but it would be wise to ask for permission before using since it is considered private and they have every right to tow your vehicle if you’re parked there without permission. Please be kind to our natural resources and pick up after yourselves. Thank you in advance for keeping the beaches beautiful! Happy beaching!
Attended a wedding here and it was amazing! Cell service was extremely low but good for attending an event where you shouldn't necessarily check out on a phone. Reception was in the chow hall was great but didn't have great acoustics for the DJ but overall a great experience! The ceremony was beautiful and the beach and bonfire spots were breathtaking!
